There are many structures to which we may adhere, infinite categories to which we may belong and countless idols we may worship. In my research and work I am concerned with restoring power to individuals who rely on said structures. Experimentation in material and process opened the possibility of shows with the goal of creating a whole world to which people may escape. I am drawn to exploring processes as my own personal escape, but, gaining momentum, I imagined combining everything I learned. My shows create an enveloping experience that demolishes the constructs which confine an individual's reality. By creating Alice's looking glass, this new world allows the viewer to interpret and re-imagine the structures imposed on them. A show surrounds the viewer with fantasy that seeks to mirror reality; it creates a space which is a reflection of the real, while addressing the actual intention of creating an escape.
